Each eBook purchase is a single license that must be assigned to one Driver Training account, and it remains tied to that account for the life of the product. This design gives students lifetime access to the training material so they can revisit it anytime to reinforce their knowledge and support their drivers education. Because eBooks also receive future updates at no additional cost, the value of that lifetime access grows as laws and the driving landscape change over time.
Important Note About Assigning Licenses to Accounts You Create
We do not have the ability to prevent you from assigning a purchased eBook license to Driver Training accounts that you create and then granting access to third-party individuals. However, we cannot recommend this approach.
- Account and identity security risk: Third parties having password access to accounts under your control (and potentially containing your information) introduces risk that personal information could be accessed, stolen, altered, or changed.
- Time-consuming to manage: If you rotate students through the same set of accounts, you may need to reset usernames/passwords after each graduation to deny former students access and grant new students access. This can be tedious and time-consuming to administer.
Our official recommendation: Purchase eBook licenses for individual students, and have each student use their own Driver Training account. This ensures students receive the intended benefit of lifelong access to the eBook training materials (including free future updates) without creating avoidable security and administrative risks.
Alternative to Consider: Bulk Licensing
While this option has a higher total cost, it may provide benefits you'll want to weigh including a lower per-license price at scale, reduced need to grant students access to accounts under your control, and the long-term value to students of maintaining their own accounts with lifetime access to the most current driving knowledge.
